Jewish Federations are heartbroken by today’s horrific attack at the Allenby crossing, in which an assailant hiding in an aid truck murdered two Israelis. In addition, four soldiers fell fighting in Gaza. We extend our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones as they face this devastating loss.
 
That the Allenby attack was carried out under the guise of humanitarian relief is appalling, and sadly typical of Israel’s enemies.
 
Brazen attacks such as these undermine the entire system of aid—meant to bring help and hope to those in need—by imbuing it with very real security threats.
 
Jewish Federations stand in solidarity with the people of Israel and reaffirm our commitment to a future defined by safety, compassion, and peace.
