Federations, coalition urge groups to apply for Nonprofit Security Grants

Jewish Federations of North America, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Secure Community Network (SCN), Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Community Security Initiative (CSI) NY, and Community Security Service (CSS) released the following statement on the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP):

As we approach the High Holidays and experience unprecedented threats to our communal security, the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) remains an essential lifeline for all synagogues, schools, community centers, and other community institutions, regardless of their denomination.

While we are aware that questions have arisen on the part of certain religious institutions regarding the current year’s program criteria, our organizations strongly urge all eligible institutions to apply for this critical resource.

We are in regular contact with government officials who have affirmed their continued commitment to protecting the safety of all faith-based institutions and the values they hold. We also encourage institutions to reach out to their state program administrators for additional information.

We stand ready to support any organizations that might have or receive questions on the program.
