Global Humanitarian Efforts

Our works extends beyond the Jewish world. We work alongside JDC and the Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief to deliver life-saving aid, trauma care, and long-term recovery support to vulnerable communities worldwide.

Our Global Emergency Response

Jewish Federations mobilize our resources and expertise to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to communities in need regardless of faith, ethnicity, or origin.

 

2004: Southeast Asian Tsunami

Supported immediate disaster relief, medical assistance, and long-term reconstruction efforts in coordination with JDC, the Israeli Foreign Ministry, AJWS, and NATAN.

2010: Haiti Earthquake

Contributed emergency funding to support humanitarian relief efforts following a catastrophic natural disaster that caused widespread loss of life and infrastructure collapse. 

2011: Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

Partnered with JDC and IsraAID to deliver emergency relief, psychosocial support, and long-term recovery assistance to communities devastated by the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis.

2013–2014: Philippines Typhoons

Supported emergency aid and psychosocial recovery programs that strengthened community resilience across regions devastated by consecutive typhoons.  

2015: Nepal Earthquakes

Supported JDC humanitarian relief reaching tens of thousands with food, medicine, and trauma care, prioritizing marginalized and remote populations.  

2022: Ukraine–Russia War

Alongside dedicated support for the Jewish community, we mounted a historic global response, funding evacuation, humanitarian relief, housing, trauma care, security, and integration support for millions affected by war.  

2023: Türkiye–Syria Earthquakes

Partnered with JDC and The Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief, a consortium of nearly 50 Jewish organizations, to deliver lifesaving aid and support long term recovery for devastated communities.

2023: Morocco Earthquake

Partnered with JDC and The Jewish Agency for Israel to launch a rapid humanitarian response, delivering immediate and supporting recovery for Jewish and non-Jewish communities after widespread destruction.
