Jewish Federation of St. Louis is looking for an extraordinary fundraiser and leader to serve as the Vice President of Development for our Development Team and be a part of the management of the organization. 
For over 120 years the Jewish Federation of St. Louis has provided support - financial and non-financial – to an ecosystem of community partners in order to meet the needs of the community. Raising between $12-$17M annually and having a Foundation (Center for Legacy Giving) with over $150M in assets, the Development department leads Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ work as the heart for Jewish philanthropy in St. Louis.

We offer a fun and collaborative team to support your professional efforts, health and wellness benefits, a competitive salary commensurate with experience ranging between $120,000 and $150,000 annually, and a hybrid work environment. 
Our ideal candidate for this integral role at Jewish Federation of St. Louis meets the following criteria: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degrees in legal, finance, business administration or a related field is preferred. 
  • A minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in a development and fundraising leadership role
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) or more years of experience in fundraising and development 
  • Experience managing staff of 10 or more individuals; a demonstrated track record of coaching and developing employees to heightened success
  • A demonstrated knowledge of and experience with high-level fundraising and development strategy 
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator 
  • Possesses an intimate knowledge of Jewish cultures, values, and holidays
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Constituent Relationship Management software (such as Blackbaud or SalesForce)
How our Vice President of Development will spend their time: 
  • Partnering with the CEO and development staff to set and achieve fundraising goals 
  • Providing strategic direction for the growth and development of the entire development department
  • Developing and facilitating relationships with donors and donor prospects 
  • Supporting and attending events in the community as a representative of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis 
  • Coaching and developing all development staff members to higher success 
  • Other duties as assigned
