Development Director, JPN - Chicago

What you’ll be responsible for:

You will be responsible for the administration and management of the JUF Professionals Network (JPN) and supervision of Senior Campaign Associates, Donor Officers and Administrative Aides.  You will work in tandem with the Associate Vice President, Missions & Campaign, lay leadership, and the team to develop a vision for the department with a focus on face-to-face engagement, increased revenue generation, engagement, and leadership development. 

What you’ll be doing:
  • Overseeing JPN’s day-to-day operations and the department’s collaboration within the larger campaign structure.
  • Immersing yourself in all industries of the Chicago Jewish business community to mine prospects and grow existing relationships.
  • Creating long term strategies with industry leaders to cultivate their networks for engagement and solicitations.
  • Developing and implementing a variety of programs, annual dinners and initiatives geared toward fundraising, outreach, and leadership development, including forming relationships with key contacts at major businesses.  
  • Implementing all donor officer responsibilities to your portfolio of donors, which includes cultivating and implementing solicitations of donors, developing, and maintaining personal relationships to maximize all development opportunities through ongoing JUF events and individualized approaches. 
  • Overseeing the JUF Corporate Partnership Program with an eye on growth and cultivation of lay leadership.
  • Supervising Donor Officers, Senior Campaign Associates, and Administrative Aides-if not delegated.
  • Strategically planning and implementing all aspects of the Financial Resource Development goals of JUF. 
  • Supporting JUF campaign integration on an ongoing basis in addition to mandatory campaign-related activities.  
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 6+ years of experience in a Federation, fundraising institution, or related Jewish communal service institution
  • 2+ years of face-to-face solicitation experience with donors or other professionals
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and handle multiple projects
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite of Products
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage, traditions, and Jewish communal services preferred
