The Jewish Federations of North America’s National Young Leadership Cabinet (“Cabinet”) is the premier leadership training program of the Jewish philanthropic community. Cabinet educates, connects, and inspires current and future global leaders and philanthropists. Since its founding in 1963, NYL Cabinet has successfully trained individuals who lead at the highest levels of Jewish communal life. Grounded in Jewish values, Cabinet engages highly dedicated individuals who embody the values of humility, authenticity, and integrity.
Cabinet Members are passionate, and committed individuals of all backgrounds – ranging from 30-40 years old - supporting and serving the Jewish Community by growing their:
Leadership in their local community and beyond
Philanthropic impact by making a minimum gift of $5,000 to their local community’s Annual Campaign in their first year, and meaningful increases thereafter; and
Commitment to Jewish community by participating in Cabinet’s experiences and opportunities
builds a uniquely engaged and connected community through key events and programming:
Cabinet Retreat: Cabinet's signature event is a multi-day learning and development experience where the Federation movement is showcased and members pledge to their local Federation's annual campaign through a powerful Caucus experience
International Study Mission: a first-hand experience of the international and humanitarian work done by Federation and its partners. Cabinet members have visited nearly every corner of the globe, including recent locations such as Argentina, Russia, Morocco, India, Hungary, and Israel.
Domestic Experiences: stepping up at home, including the 2023 March for Israel in Washington, D.C., Advocacy Fly-Ins, the JFNA General Assembly, and the International Lions of Judah Conference
Online Learning and Connection: opportunities to participate in virtual learning throughout the year building on the in-person experiences.
Attend Cabinet Retreat to start their experience, connect with their class and hundreds of Cabinet members, learn the Federation system and ways they can help Jewish life flourish and thrive in North America, in Israel, and globally.
