Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett sent a letter to Jewish Federations of North America Board Chair Mark Wilf and CEO and President Eric Fingerhut, along with the leadership of Keren Hayesod-UIA and the Jewish Agency for Israel, praising them for working alongside the Israeli government in the relief efforts for the Jewish community in Ukraine.

“I am writing to you and your organizations at this time of global crisis as leaders and representatives of the worldwide Jewish community,” the letter says.  “Keren Hayesod-UIA, JFNA and the Jewish Agency have always supported their brothers and sisters around the world whenever there has been a need, and I am proud that now there is also an independent Jewish state that can join you in taking responsibility for our fellow Jews.”

“Please accept the thanks and gratitude of the government and the entire State of Israel, and with God’s help, we will continue to work together to save lives,” the letter continues.

Jewish Federations are in the midst of a $20 million emergency campaign to provide relief to the Jewish community of Ukraine.
