Israel Independence Day to be celebrated virtually

Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) will be celebrated in South Florida virtually this year when it takes place from April 28-29 due to the new coronavirus pandemic. As annual gatherings marking Israel Independence Day are canceled, local Jewish Federations are joining a live-streaming global celebration of Israel’s 72nd birthday. This virtual event, hosted by Jewish Federations of North America, takes place from 2-3 p.m. on April 29 and is expected to include celebrities, Israeli political figures, musical performances and more.
