The Jewish Federations of North America (“JFNA”) consist of 146 Jewish Federations and dozens of Network communities which collectively raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually to support flourishing Jewish life and the needs of the Jewish people in their home communities and around the world. The Jewish Federation system, among the top 10 charities on the continent, leads the largest network of volunteer and professional leaders who build and sustain Jewish communities that are healthy, safe, caring, welcoming and inclusive, educated and engaged, involved in the broader community, and deeply connected to Israel and the global Jewish people.   


Jewish Federations of North America’s Communications Department seeks a Writing and Communications Intern with an interest in writing, journalism and public relations, who is pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector, communications, and/or advocacy. This is a paid internship, working 20 hours a week.


Job summary:

In this role, you will provide support to the communications team in telling the story of Jewish Federations. Tasks may include drafting press releases, social media posts, statements and blog entries, researching media contacts, analyzing PR and social media analytics, researching and reporting on best practices across various social media platforms, crafting stories for pitches, scheduling interviews and more.

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student preferred
