Social Media Marketing Associate - Vancouver

Job Description 
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for the following: 
 
Content Creation 
  • Create, publish and monitor compelling social media content for Jewish Federation, the Jewish Community Foundation, and all of our community engagement programs. (Includes writing and graphic design in Canva.) 
  • Support our mission and ensure brand consistency.  
  • Identify the appropriate channel for each message and adjust for each platform. 
  • Maintain a monthly social media calendar and use a content management system to schedule and publish. 
  • Execute campaigns on time and on budget. 
  • Provide a high level of service both within the department and with stakeholders in our organization.  
Community Growth and Engagement 
  • Grow our unique and varied communities on multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more.   
  • Increase engagement and interactivity with a wide range of target audiences for Jewish Federation and each of our sub-brands and programs.  
  • Respond effectively to questions and comments.  
  • Advise managers of issues and recommend solutions.  
  • Contribute to the development of the social media strategy with the Manager, Marketing and Communications and in collaboration with key stakeholders.  
  • Support crisis communications efforts as needed. 
Performance Measurement 
  • Monitor the latest trends and changes across platforms, implement best practices, and advise how best to adjust our strategy. 
  • Monitor and track KPIs. 
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of paid campaigns. 
  • Identify and capitalize on gaps and opportunities to drive increased success. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Effective project management skills and the proven ability to prioritize multiple deliverables with competing deadlines. 
  • Able to distill complex ideas into messages that are simple to understand.

  • Demonstrates excellent judgement.  
 
Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, plus a minimum of one year of experience in a similar role, either in-house or at an agency.  
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple social media accounts and advertising platforms including Facebook ads manager and building effective targeted audiences 
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and innovative. 
  • Experience creating compelling graphics and videos in Canva.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Power Point.   ​

Flexible Work Week 
  • This is currently a half time role (18.5 hours/week) with the possibility of full-time after 1 year. 
  • Flexible days/hours are available while position is part-time  
  • Specific hours will be dedicated to certain stakeholders’ work. 
  • Position is based in Metro Vancouver. Remote or hybrid schedule available. 
  • Availability required for some evening and Sunday events. 
 
Salary
  • Salary range is $27.48/hr. to $31.87/hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
