FRD Assistant - New Orleans

Summary/Objective:
The FRD Assistant to the CDO will work closely with the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans (JFGNO) development and program staff. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in the skill set described below, will require minimal supervision, will be a quick learner, and will consistently demonstrate professionalism, maturity and focus. This position is central to the success of Federation’s strategic plan - the successful candidate will be one who is self-motivated and enjoys helping create positive change in a fast-paced environment. This role will not require attending donor meetings or making solicitations, rather it will be “behind the scenes.”


Essential Functions: (these will vary seasonally)

  • Support CDO in ways including, but not limited to:
    • Managing busy meeting and project management schedule
    • Frequently communicating via phone and email with various stakeholders
    • Preparing campaign and sponsorship materials and packets
    • Assisting with meeting print and production deadlines
    • Miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Become skilled user of various data management tools used by CDO for the following:
    • Cross-checking donor revenues and designations for CFO
    • Logging key donor activities
    • Generating grants and proposals pipeline reports on short notice
    • Miscellaneous data management tasks


Supervisory responsibilities: N/A

Work environment: Working inside of the office and attending outside meetings and events

Physical demands: Ability to carry/push/pull objects less than 30 pounds

Position type and expected hours of work: 20 hours per week, scheduled as determined by CDO

Required education and experience:

  • Minimum 1 year full time experience in administrative or similar professional position
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, fluent in formal business communications etiquette
  • Ability to track projects in a tight time frame and follow instructions in precise detail
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines without being reminded; ability to anticipate needs of leadership
  • Comfortable with shifting priorities as imposed by unanticipated factors
  • Excellent technology skills in standard business applications and platforms
  • Willingness to continually upskill in current tech solutions relevant to position
  • Strong professional references


$20 an hour at up to 20 hours per week
