Jewish Federation of St. Louis is looking for a Director of Legacy and Planned Giving to join our Development Team. 
 
For over 120 years the Jewish Federation of St. Louis has provided support - financial and non-financial – to an ecosystem of community partners in order to meet the needs of the community. Raising between $12-$17M annually and having a Foundation (Center for Legacy Giving) with over $150M in assets, the Development department leads Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ work as the hub for Jewish philanthropy in St. Louis.

Our ideal candidate for this integral role at the St. Louis Jewish Federation meets the following criteria: 
 
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degrees in legal, finance, business administration or a related field is preferred. 
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in fundraising, major gift donor relationships, financial planning, estate planning, or legacy/planned giving experience  
  • A demonstrated knowledge of and interest in planned and legacy giving
  • Ability to work with financial planning professionals 
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator 
  • Possesses an understanding of Jewish cultures and values
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Constituent Relationship Management software (such as Blackbaud or SalesForce)
 
How our Director of Legacy and Planned Giving will spend their time: 
 
  • Developing and implementing strategies to support the growth of the Center for Legacy Giving
  • Providing strategic direction for the growth and development of all legacy and transformational giving opportunities 
  • Working with donors to make planned gifts, establish Donor Advised Funds, and create Endowment Funds 
  • Managing relationships with a portfolio of donors, including solicitation of $10,000+ gifts to the Jewish Federation of St. Louis 
  • Providing oversight of the Donor Advised Fund portal and process 
  • Collaborating with the development team to support the overall success of the development department and coordination of integrated asks
  • Attending relevant community events as a representative of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis 
  • Working with committee and outside financial and legal advisors to market planned giving opportunities 
  • Other duties as assigned
