Combined Jewish Philanthropies is seeking a Director/ Senior Director of HR to ensure that all human resources (HR) operations are delivered smoothly and effectively. You will be responsible for developing HR strategies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects. You will leverage your past HR leadership experience to manage programs and lead staff while also possessing a strong strategic mindset. The goal is to ensure that all HR needs of the company are being met and are aligned with business objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Design and execute a comprehensive engagement and retention strategy, including regular cadence of performance reviews and check-ins with employees.
- Design and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits strategy.
- Proactively research, design and implement new programs and trainings to allow employees to do their best work and build culture.
- Keep track of and analyze HR metrics related to diversity and inclusion, retention, employee engagement, etc.
- Partner with senior leaders to foster organizational consistency through different phases of growth and scale, e.g., help standardize titles, build out career ladders for roles, etc.
- Lead and influence change management by helping to equip managers with the tools necessary to ensure effective communication.
- Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices, and regulations.
- Draft HR-related documentation and ensure effective communication to employees on any updates to policy, practices, and regulations.
- Oversees the administration of compensation, benefits, and leaves.
- Manage a small team of direct reports.
Education:
- Bachelors or higher degree in a discipline appropriate for the position.
Experience:
- 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Solid Experience as a HR Business Partner with specific track record of creating compensation structures, programs and exposure to employee relations
- Prior management of HR professionals

- Familiarity with and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; experience in preparing professional electronic documents.
- Past experience working within UKG Payroll and applicant tracking system preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Work each week in the office in downtown Boston on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays work from home.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, much of which will be working at a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
