Organization Overview
The Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh is the central hub of Jewish life in Wake County and surrounding areas. The Jewish Federation includes our agencies: Jewish Family Services, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Community Relations Council, and the Jewish Community Foundation. Through our agencies and local and national partnerships, Federation welcomes, engages and empowers Jewish life in Raleigh, Israel, and around the world.
Position Description
The Development Coordinator is part of a dynamic team that is responsible for organizing and implementing our annual fundraising and development initiatives. This individual will work closely with the Director of Development, CEO, key staff and volunteer leaders to design and manage the annual campaign, which includes management of our donor database, prospect lists, solicitation training and planning, acknowledgements, appeals and programs. Additionally, the Development Coordinator will oversee our annual campaign initiatives such as appeal letters and phone-a-thon.
Core Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily overall mechanics of development including but not limited to ratings, solicitor assignments, donor history, communication schedule, appeals preparation, program design, etc.
- Communicate, train and support efforts of volunteers involved with campaign.
- Report key development information including a dashboard for Monthly Board Reports with key metrics such as Gifts in, Gifts outstanding, New gifts, Current trends.
- Manage donor database including contact information, donor history, solicitor information.
- Manage and maintain financial records for each event to ensure that the logistics, budgets, and timelines are met for assigned events and campaigns.
- Make phone calls to donors for both solicitations and stewardship.
- Prepare notes and follow up correspondence for solicitations by CEO, Development Director and volunteer solicitors.
- Manage donor appreciation touchpoints such as acknowledgement letters, thank you notes, holiday cards, etc.
- Partner with Director of Development and CEO in creation of annual development plan.
- Assist with organization of campaign events such as major events, speakers, campaign kickoff, etc.
- Assist with organization of other campaign-related activities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Strong team player, able to partner and effectively communicate with colleagues, staff and volunteer leaders with a variety of communication styles
- Able to build relationships with a wide range of people.
- Ability to proactively identify issues and suggest solutions.
- Familiarity with best practices in nonprofit development and fundraising
- Experience with donor database software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing or supervising staff, as well managing large cross departmental projects.
- Experience soliciting donors for nonprofit missions.
- Experience participating in an annual giving campaign as staff or volunteer.
Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience plus competitive benefits package

Additional Information: Compensation is commensurate with experience. We follow COVID-19 Safety Protocols, both on and off-site, per the CDC and our Medical Advisory Board. Candidate must be fully vaccinated according to current CDC requirements at time of application.
