About the Marketing & Creative Team

 

The Marketing & Creative Team serves as an in-house creative agency, serving JFNA and 146 local Federations. We are at the hub of a fast-paced, innovative organization bringing brand strategy, creative direction, marketing strategy, design, copy, and video production to our audiences. The work we do is impactful and meaningful - and we are looking for superstars to ideate and create with us!

We know that projects can come our way in many forms, and we’re always up for the challenge of creating order from chaos.

 

What will you be doing?

 

The Designer will use their broad skillset across brand concept, digital interaction, and marketing domains to craft holistic design solutions, from early-stage idea generation through detailed design of products.

The Designer will work closely with a team of designers and copywriters to produce products for digital spaces, including websites, social graphics, email, video and animation assets, data visualization, and more.

The Designer will also be expected to produce print products such as flyers, brochures, and event signage to name a few.

 

Your fellow team members will rely on you to:

 

  • Take a leadership role on our organization’s brand resources, templates, and innovations.
  • Design beyond just specs, and translate marketing and branding strategies into innovative and impressive campaigns that activate targeted audiences.
  • Work on projects that are vast and impactful - from racial justice and advocacy work to inventing new fundraising campaigns and strategies to building out nationwide advertising/marketing campaigns.
  • Design and produce assets for digital and print media including websites, social platforms, videos, animated GIFs, email templates, presentation decks, flyers, brochures, and more.
  • Expand the existing organization’s brand into beautiful and functional marketing materials, maintaining brand consistency and strategy.
  • Assist in the conception and designing of various new organizational sub-brands.
  • Work alongside the development team to ensure aesthetics are aligned with usability, accessibility, and web standards as they pertain to both internal and external platforms.
  • Collaborate with the full creative team to translate client needs and leadership direction into effective, usable, and compelling campaigns and designs.
  • Apply feedback to ensure all creative marketing needs are being met.
  • Partner with other designers, project managers, and clients to drive alignment around user needs, and rally around lovable and feasible solutions.
  • Unleash curiosity and creativity and connect the “why” behind design decisions to the project’s goals.
  • Other responsibilities as necessary.

 

We want you to have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital design, graphic design, graphic communications or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Agency experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
  •  A clean aesthetic and a strong understanding of the information hierarchy play in visual communication
  • A quick worker without sacrificing quality, and able to thrive in high-pressure situations as deadlines are tight.
  • Strong portfolio of design work, showcasing a deep understanding of digital and user-focused design principles, as well as great typography and color choices, and clear knowledge of general design best practices.
  • Experience in web design with a basic knowledge of HTML/CSS, as well as design, development, and user experience processes.
  • Extreme proficiency in Adobe suite products, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Figma
  • Experience with creating animated GIFs in Photoshop and Adobe AfterEffects is a major plus.
  • Experience in creating templates in Canva
  • Able to present concepts and lead internal teams in discussions on how to solve complex communications challenges.
  • Strong work ethic and personal accountability.

  • Strong time management.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:  JFNA offers a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, FSA), including a defined contribution plan, generous vacation policy, paid legal and Jewish holidays, life insurance, generous parental leave policies and flexible remote work practices.  Our compensation philosophy strives to be externally competitive and internally fair.   Additionally, we offer voluntary learning programs throughout the year in subjects of interest to our staff.

 

Salary range:  $70,000 - $80,000
