matchmaker@ujc.org.Recently, Marla was a contributing editor to XseeksY.com, an online resource for people who were intrigued, but a bit nervous, about online dating. Her funny contributions highlighted "the do's and don'ts of cyber-dating."
Most of the time, Marla is an actress/comedian...
So how did Marla begin her comedy career? It began in the winter of 1992 after a back accident left her bedridden for two weeks—the painkillers finally wore off and Marla mustered the strength to walk to the neighborhood market. En route she had an epiphany after encountering the neighborhood hobo who slurred the words that propelled Marla into action: "que baby....life's noting but a dress rehearsal."
From that moment on Marla has been honing her act all over New York and Los Angeles. Marla performs regularly at the Comic Strip, Gotham Comedy Club, Caroline's and other alternative rooms that dot Manhattan. When in Los Angeles she works out at the Comedy Store and the Improv. She has been the opening act for such comics as Bobby Collins, John Diresta, Dave Attell, Joy Behar and Lewis Black.
Recently, Marla co-starred in the independent film "Chutzpah...The Schmoole Glick story" and co-wrote, co-starred and co-produced "What The Feng," which will debut this year in the New York Comedy Film Festival.
