Internship Opportunity
Are you a student? Are you looking for a great way to spend your time in Washington?
Internships are now available our Washington
D.C.Office.
Interns will have the opportunity to
be exposed to a wide range of national public
policy issues, especially involving human services and the non-profit
sector. They will learn innovative approaches to stimulate community
interest in these issues. Interns will track legislation, research policy
issues, and assist legislative staff in organizing and informing the local
grassroots network of Federations. Interns may make phone calls, visit
legislators, and work with staff on conference calls and special events.
Interns may have the opportunity to participate in advocacy/leadership building
days with lay and professional leaders from Jewish federations across the
country.
Interns may attend Congressional hearings and coalition meetings. They will work on projects that include developing public and community relations, strengthening coalitions with other national organizations, and identifying federal funding sources.
Interns will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of community needs and the development of programs to meet those needs. Interns will assist in developing and analyzing community surveys and in researching and writing on issues such as senior transportation, aging and family care-giving.
The landscape in Washington is ever changing and moving. Interns have the opportunity to participate in any and all projects in which the Jewish Federations of North America Washington office is involved.
Internships are available throughout the year, and there is a stipend available.
