The Israel Action Network would like to take a moment to applaud the victorious efforts of the collective New York City community who came together to defeat BDS.
On Tuesday, March 27, the Park Slope Food Coop, the largest urban food cooperative in the United States, voted by an overwhelming majority of 60 percent to reject a proposed boycott on Israeli-manufactured products. In fact, nearly 2,000 of the co-op’s 16,000 members showed up to vote; most monthly meetings only draw around 300 members. Read More.
IAN’s Year of Community Mobilizations Continues
IAN’s Year of Community Mobilizations is bringing strong advocacy training and strategic planning to Federations and Community Relations Councils from coast to coast. The IAN has been able to assist 40 communities thus far, to increase their capacity in countering attacks on Israel’s legitimacy. Update on Iran

Happy Passover!
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a happy Passover. Passover is a holiday about so much more than just a week-long matzo-fortified diet. It commemorates the torturous journey that the Jewish people endured following an escape from slavery in Egypt. When they ultimately arrived safely in the Promised Land, the tribes of Israel came together to forge a sovereign nation that would become the Jewish state of Israel.
This epic event is inextricably linked with the purpose of the Israel Action Network. Just as the Jews fled Egypt to escape from those who sought their destruction, we at the IAN seek to counter those who deny the legitimacy of the Jewish identity of the state of Israel. So, while you recline and reflect during Passover this week, and examine the answers to plaguing questions, we hope you will take a moment to reflect on the very current parallels we can draw between the story of Passover and our current battle against delegitimization.
Yom HaAtzma'ut commemorates Israel's declaration of Independence on May 14, 1948. Yom Ha'atzma'ut is nominally celebrated on the 5th day of Iyar in the Hebrew calendar, the anniversary of the day in which Israel independence was proclaimed, when David Ben-Gurion publicly read the Israeli Declaration of Independence.
