Visit to supermarket

Visit local homes.

Lunch at Choral Synagogue, originally built in 1790. The synagogue was destroyed and then rebuilt in 1840. From 1940 until 1991, when the USSR collapsed, the synagogue was used as a sports hall. In 1997, the Jewish community of Odessa reclaimed the synagogue.

Political and economic overview of Ukraine by Professor Vladimir Dubovik

Visit Stolyarksy Music School.

Hear a personal story from Misha Galperin, the CEO and President of The Jewish Agency for Israel International Development, who was born in Odessa.

Interactive program with students

Visit with the elderly at Beit Grand. Speak with Holocaust survivors and Righteous Gentiles who helped rescue Jews during the Holocaust,

Meet with youth at Cafe Dilemma and Hillel.

Visit and Yizkor ceremony at Holocaust memorial.

Lunch with Taglit-Birthright Israel participants

Boat ride on the Black Sea with at-risk families

Visit and barbecue dinner with youth at a Jewish Agency summer camp.

THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2012

Breakfast

Check out of hotel.

Depart for Tel Aviv.

Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport.

Opening lunch at Kfar Hamaccabia

Visit JAFI and JDC programs.

Travel to Haifa for Birthright Mega Event.

Arrive at Haifa Naval base for pre-event program with Birthright participants and soldiers who accompany birthright groups.

Dinner followed by Mega Event

Late return to Jerusalem and hotel check in

Overnight: Inbal Hotel, Jerusalem

Friday, July 13

Israeli breakfast

Activity with World ORT

Lunch followed by panel about the Middle East with scholars.

Blood drive at the hotel with Magen David Adom

Prepare for Shabbat.

Special Kabbalat Shabbat service at the Western Wall excavations

Festive Shabbat dinner in the courtyard of the hotel with traditional singing and dancing

Overnight: Inbal Hotel, Jerusalem

Israeli breakfast

Opportunity to attend Shabbat services at many synagogues in Jerusalem

Lunch at hotel (seating according to city sizes)
