Berlin (dpa) - One of Germany's most prominent film producers, Artur Brauner, is to be honoured at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, the Berlin office of the Holocaust memorial centre announced on Friday.
Brauner, 91, is to be awarded for his services to Holocaust cinema with a media centre in his name, after the producer donated 21 of his films to the Visual Centre at Yad Vashem.
These films include Europa Europa, The White Rose and his most
recent film, The Last Train.
Brauner is to travel to Israel with his family for the opening of the media centre with Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev, on March 24.
Yad Vashem's Visual Centre holds 3,800 films and 60,000 testimonies about the Holocaust.
