Denise and Andrew Saul Visit Hadera to See First-hand
the Impact of the IEF Projects They Have Funded

November 25, 2009

UJA Federation of New York supporters, Denise and Andrew Saul, recently visited Hadera to tour the day care center and other facilities funded through their generosity. Thanks to their support, the day care center—established in 1980 through Israel Education Fund and funded by Andrew's late parents, Norma and Joseph Saul—has undergone significant renovations. It is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Israel, serving 145 children daily.

The Sauls enjoyed performances by the children, a short presentation, and the unveiling
of the donor sign recognizing Norma and Joseph Saul. It was a sentimental moment for Andrew Saul who recalled the initial dedication nearly 30 years ago.

The couple also visited the renovated sports ground where they saw teens playing soccer as part of the rehabilitation program they help support run by the city of Hadera. The sports ground features a new playing surface, a high perimeter fence and floodlighting that enables the facility to stay open for an estimated 200 youth every evening until 11 PM.

The tour ended at the Givol Democratic School that offers innovative teaching and curriculum for children and youth from nearby kibbutzim and moshavim as well as children from Givat Olga in Hadera.
