Meyerhoff Hall Opens at the
Beer Sheva Performing Arts Center

March 2, 2009

Beer Sheva. The family of the late Joseph Meyerhoff carry on his legacy of community involvement, leadership and tzedakah that reverberates throughout our Jewish world. As Israel Education Fund donors, they have literally helped build the land of Israel. With their latest IEF project, the Meyerhoff Hall at the Beer Sheva Performing Arts Center, they continue to invest in Israel's future.

The Meyerhoff family is justifiably proud of the activities hosted in the hall they donated to the Beer Sheva’s Mishkan Ha’omanut (performing arts center), which serves as the home of the Beer Sheva theater.

STRAIGHT TALK
"IEF donors build more than buildings. Our capital investment in building the land makes a statement to our family in Israel that we believe in their future. Looking back at the genesis of Israel Education Fund and all that IEF donors have achieved, it's clear that even in the toughest of times, with creativity and commitment, there is a resource to meet every challenge."

Terry Meyerhoff Rubenstein,
Executive Vice President,
Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds

On Monday, March 2, 2009, Joseph Meyerhoff, grandson of the hall’s donor, visited the performing arts center and saw for himself the impressive structure and the hall that the Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds donated through Israel Education Fund.

The hall seats 400 people and serves as the home of the Beer Sheva theater. As mentioned, it is part of the magnificent Mishkan Ha’omanut performing arts center, which also contains a large hall for concerts and performances.
