We extend our thanks to the members of the UJC Rabbinic Cabinet who responded to this urgent, one-time request. The gravity of the need to better outfit public shelters in Israel's north has led us to fold it in with our system's overall  Israel Crisis Fund response. As a result, air- conditioning units and TVs are  already arriving in  dozens  of communities - Jewish, Arab and Druze - throughout affected areas.

Each passing day finds greater and greater need in Israel. As we have so many times before, the American Jewish community must rise to the call and share what we have in great abundance - our resources, our hearts and our prayers.  We ask you to work hand-in-hand with your community federations as they spearhead the American-Jewish community's response to this crisis.
