Chair, Jewish Renaissance and Renewal Pillar, United Jewish Communities

Long active in the Jewish community, Marion Blumenthal is the chair of United Jewish Communities’ (UJC) Jewish Renaissance and Renewal Pillar and a member of its Officers Team. She also chairs the Israel Education Co. and is an officer of the JESNA (Jewish Education Service of North America) board. Additionally, Blumenthal serves on the board of governors of The Jewish Agency (JAFI) and the board of the American Jewish Joint Distribution (JDC) Committee.

In New York, Blumenthal is immediate past chair of the Commission of Jewish Identity and Renewal, and serves on its Executive Committee. She also serves as the UJA representative on the board of the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education.

Blumenthal has piloted the Dialogues in Jewish Thought Program, an adult study program that seeks to educate secular Jews about their Jewish heritage. She formerly served on the boards of Synagogue 2000, The Foundation for Jewish Camping and the JCC in Manhattan.
