Michael Gelman

Michael C. Gelman is chair of the Executive Committee of the Board of The Jewish Federations of North America. He was previously its treasurer and chair of its Budget & Finance Committee. He is a past chair of the JFNA’s Domestic Affairs Pillar, and a past president of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.

He held many positions at the Washington Federation including Annual Campaign co-chair; vice-president at large; vice president of Finance; vice president of Multiple Appeals; assistant secretary; Major Gifts Division chair; United Jewish Endowment Fund President and trustee; Jerome J. Dick Young Leadership Award recipient; Federation Executive Committee and Investment and Development Committees chair.

Mr. Gelman has served on the United States Holocaust Memorial Council and has chaired the Council's Ad Hoc Committee on Governance, Investment Committee and Development Committee. He serves on the leadership of several other organizations, including as a board member of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Washington; Inaugural chair and board member of The Israel Project; member of the board of governors of Hillel; board member of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP); and he has served as a regent of the University System of Maryland.

Mr. Gelman was the founding partner of Gelman, Rosenberg and Freedman, located in Bethesda, Md., and is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
