Sam Astrof joined The Jewish Federations of North America in February 2003 as CFO and subsequently took on the additional responsibilities of COO, consolidating two budget positions. Sam is responsible for all financial functions in the U.S. and Israel, including overseas allocations, budgets, investments, endowments, information technology, human resources, telecommunications, materials production and general administration of The Jewish Federations of North America offices as well as operational areas. Prior to joining The Jewish Federations of North America, Sam was the CFO and senior vice president of United Way of New York City, including The September 11th Fund. Previously he was a senior partner with Ernst & Young, LLP. Sam has a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University, an MBA from The City University of New York – Bernard M. Baruch College and is a Certified Public Accountant.
