The Young Adult Division (YAD) is committed to building a strong Jewish community in Tampa, in Israel and throughout the world. YAD provides an active venue for singles, couples and families (ages 21-45) to connect to the Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation and to the Tampa Jewish community through a broad range of events, programs and initiatives.
The Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation seeks a full-time professional to oversee its Young Adult Division. The YAD Director will focus on engaging and connecting young adults to the Federation and promoting awareness of Federation’s mission, goals and values.
The YAD Director will provide professional leadership and strategic direction to the fundraising, educational, outreach, leadership development and volunteer activities of YAD. Responsibilities will include fundraising, networking, recruiting, developing volunteer leaders, as well as planning programs, events and meetings.
Develop and implement social & educational programming focused on outreach, community building, philanthropic and leadership development initiatives geared to single, couples and married men and women ages 21-45.
Work in partnership with volunteer leadership to plan, coordinate and implement committee meetings, programs, and events designed to increase number of participants at programs and donors to the Tampa JCC & Federation Annual Campaign.
Management of the YAD Council and its duties.
Work in partnership with JCC & Federation staff and lay leadership to identify, engage, educate, solicit and steward current and potential donors and to maximize all development opportunities through both YAD events and individualized approaches.
Collaborate with Outreach & Engagement Director and Director of Development to effectively market and execute events and programs.
3-5 years related work experience in community organizing, outreach and/or programming for young adults, including planning and strategy development responsibilities
1-2 years work experience in fundraising or donor relations is preferred
Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience in lay leader-staff relations and event planning
Proven ability to plan, implement and measure strategies and programs
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Experience managing staff preferred
Experience using technology and social media to network and engage others
Ability to prioritize tasks, balance multiple assignments and meet deadlines
Creativity, resourcefulness and capacity for innovation
High level of energy and flexibility
Meticulous attention to detail and follow-up
Capacity to be self-motivated and self-directed
Desire and willingness to learn and grow
Availability for evening and/or weekend events/meetings
Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Publisher, Excel, Powerpoint)
Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage, traditions and Jewish Communal services with a keen sense of trends and culture of the young adult community preferred
