The Federation is expanding its role as a provider to other community organizations of infrastructure and services, including fund-raising services and the finance, IT, and HR. The 2012 Community Campaign was successful, raising more than $6 million dollars for the Federation’s funding recipients.
The Federation movement started in Cincinnati over 112 years ago. Our Federation is quickly gaining recognition among the over 150 Federations nationally as a successful innovator. This legacy and reputation, together with key partnerships, such as that with the Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati, gives this position national significance.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Agency Fundraising and Special Gifts will provide overall management and leadership of the Federation’s collaborative initiatives to support the fundraising activities of several partner agencies and Jewish institutions in the community. This individual will work with these partner organizations to improve current fundraising practices and develop new strategies for increasing donor support.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Needs Assessment:
Work with each partner agency to evaluate their needs in the areas of Database Management, Friends Campaigns, Special Events, Major Donors, and Planned Giving.
Plan Development:
Work closely with staff and key volunteer leaders of each organization to develop a unique fundraising plan that addresses their needs and makes the best use of their resources.
Staff Management:
Manage a team of two fundraising professionals. Provide training and development and set measurable objectives to drive achievement of goals.
Fundraising Involvement:
Provide hands-on support to enlist the participation of key donors identified by each partner agency.
Professional Development:
Attend seminars and conferences to maintain “best practices” and bring new ideas to the team. Ensure that all staff members are in compliance with the proper training and testing.
Management Team Member:
Participate as a key member of the Development Department’s management team, providing input and feedback on the Federation’s strategic fundraising initiatives.
