Vice President of Premier Philanthropy

Responsible for solicitation for of all areas of the Premier Philanthropy program.
Reporting to the Executive VP of Financial Resource Development (FRD), this position is responsible for identifying, cultivating and soliciting new donors for Premier Philanthropy. Oversees the “vetting” of all prospects for Premier Philanthropy and Major Gifts. Work with in-house staff to ensure that all new and prospective donors are properly slotted into carefully “rated” positions that will have the maximum benefit for all major giving categories, supplemental giving, capital projects, and venture philanthropy to make sure that there is no duplication of “asks” out to donors without a coordinated effort and communication between staff. Work with the lay structure to manage the solicitation process.
Other duties may be assigned as needed including assisting with the Campaign.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
B.A. required. Minimum 5-8 years experience in community organizing, community relations, planning, allocations, and development functions for a Jewish communal agency. Experience in social planning, policy analysis and budgeting. Knowledge of Judaism and Israel and needs of the Jewish community in Los Angeles and abroad. Working knowledge of appropriate software programs and office systems required. Appropriate education and related experience strongly desired.
