Reporting to the Executive Director and serving on the Senior Management Team, the FRD Associate, initiates, develops, implements and manages the execution of a comprehensive and diversified financial resource development plan that includes, but not limited to, the annual campaign, planned giving & endowments, special events, major gifts stewardship, leadership development and outreach.


Representing the organization and modeling a personal commitment to the Jewish community and Jewish values, the FRD Associate is mandated to design and implement a business development plan that reflects the philanthropic goals of the community and includes cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, donor management and donor recognition. As such, the incumbent participates actively in a variety of networking events and opportunities and plays a key role in identifying, developing, building, maintaining and reinforcing relationships with portfolios of current and new potential donors. Working closely with the Campaign Director to maximize achievements and exceed goals, the FRD Associate reviews and evaluates the success of current development operations, strategies and activities by implementing a system of performance metrics and initiating as well as enhancing strategies to broaden business development. Apart from soliciting donations on behalf of FEDERATION CJA, the incumbent educates volunteer leadership about FEDERATION CJA, its constituent agencies, Montreal Jewish Community and Israel in order to increase awareness of the importance of giving. The incumbent inspires, motivates and supports campaign professionals during and after campaign corridor and ensures that unassigned donors or donors that have not made a pledge for the specific campaign year are called. During off-campaign season, the FRD continues to develop and maintain strong working relationships with communal institutions and leaders in an attempt to identify and implement innovative and collaborative fundraising efforts. The FRD will also research and inform prospective and active donors about government fiscal incentives to giving and recognize fundraising volunteer efforts and donors through written and verbal communications. Lastly, the candidate stays abreast of best practices in financial resource and donor development by cultivating and maintaining relationships with other FRD professionals. The ideal candidate holds a university degree and a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in high profile corporate or entrepreneurial environments, mainly responsible for business sales and development with a proven track record in increasing financial resources and creating new partners. An entrepreneur at heart and reputed for its visionary leadership and strategic management skills, the incumbent is able to articulate clear and understandable goals, has a proven track record in developing, implementing and measuring short and long term activities and in inspiring others in its support. The right candidate has a strong understanding of professional fund development requirement and trends for non-profit organizations and possesses outstanding communication skill in both English and French. Knowledge of Jewish community will be considered an asset.
