Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton

The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton, Ohio (JFGD) is seeking an Executive Vice President who has the professional experience, personal enthusiasm and strategic vision to provide skilled leadership for the future of the Jewish community of Dayton. The Executive Vice President serves as the CEO of the JFGD, the Dayton JCC and the Dayton Area Jewish Senior Services Agency. The successful candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, be a strong leader, an innovative manager and a dedicated advocate of the JFGD’s mission. A sound record of financial resource development, board engagement, strategic thinking, planning, staff and financial management skills is also important. This position reports to the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton cares for those in need, strengthens Jewish life, and creates connections among Jews – locally, in Israel, and around the world. Established in 1910, the JFGD is located in the Boonshoft Center for Jewish Culture and Education, a 10 year old 30,000 square foot building that also houses the JCC and the Senior Services Agency. Additional departments of the JFGD include the Community Relations Council, the Dayton Jewish Observer newspaper and the Dayton Jewish Federation Foundation. With an annual campaign of $1.35 million and an operating budget of $3.5 million, the JFGD has 75 staff serving a Jewish community of 3500. The Dayton Jewish community also comprises four synagogues, Chabad, and a Jewish Community Day School. Greater Dayton is home to a vibrant arts community and lively collegiate sports.

The successful candidate will have a BA, BS or master’s degree in Jewish Communal Service, public administration, non-profit management or a related field; significant experience as a senior executive and leader in the Jewish, nonprofit and/or business sector; and a strong commitment to the mission of the JFGD, the Jewish community and Israel.  Successful experience in fundraising and financial resource development is vital.
