Director of Marketing and Communications
Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County

Primarily responsible to implement a comprehensive and compelling marketing and communications plan, including development of online and print materials, writing of feature pieces and other articles, coordinating media relationships and exposure, coordinating strategic and segmented messaging, calendar, promotion of events, direct response communications (direct mail, e-philanthropy, telemarketing, etc.) and PR.

The candidate should have outstanding organizational and communication skills necessary to build strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including other professionals and volunteers. Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, this individual will work with an administrative coordinator to accomplish projects, as well as be responsible for ongoing development and management of a team of volunteers through a marketing committee.

Qualifications


  • Marketing Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years of experience and increasing responsibility in communications and strategies for reaching new markets or audiences.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing marketing plans, including segmentation, online communications, development of print collateral materials, and overall branding/positioning. 

  • A leader. Able to proactively drive through and manage change by anticipating emerging trends, identifying key insights and incorporating these into decision making and initiatives which respond to both existing and future needs of the community.

  • Effective communications.  Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to make sound data based judgments.

  • Thinks and acts strategically and with accountability.  Proven success in developing and implementing short and long term strategic activities and tasks with clear goals, objectives and measurement tools.

  • Strong management and leadership skills, including established success in ensuring teamwork and collaboration for high performing teams in a culture of accountability and discipline.  Experience in successful coaching and supervision of team members.

  • Demonstrated innovation, creativity and commitment to excellence.

  • Ability to inspire others and build commitment through articulating a clear and understandable vision.

  • Ability to problem solve to implement a vision utilizing data and other relevant information.  Understand the use of analytics in the development and implementation of plans.

  • Works well with others.  Proven success building and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to interact with multiple constituencies.

  • Candidates with significant marketing and communications experience and client focused mindset are particularly welcome.

  • Good judgment and the highest level of integrity.
