Senior Manager, Missions and Special Projects
Jewish Federations of North America

JFNA is seeking an experienced and highly organized professional who will serve as the Senior Manager, Missions and Special Projects for the Missions department. The Senior Manager, Missions and Special Projects will be responsible for interacting with the New York based staff, the Israel staff, vendors, and Federations directly. Key elements of this position will be recruitment, marketing and managing business relationships.  This position will represent the JFNA Missions department nationally and overseas as it relates to Missions to Israel.  This position is dependent upon funding from an outside source.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in recruiting communities to JFNA Missions program
  • Assist communities in developing missions plans from conception through follow up
  • Consultant to JFNA affinities to develop mission plans from conception through follow up
  • Serve as liaison between communities and Israel staff
  • Oversee the JFNA Mission website to include interesting and up-to-date information
  • Work with JFNA Marketing Department to create materials about, and resources for, missions
  • Direct and oversee missions professionals listserve
  • Work with mission related vendors as necessary
  • Research options for future missions
  • Prepare and monitor missions budgets
  • Train professionals staffing missions
  • Recommend staffing for select missions
  • Supervise support staff
  • Maintain complete and accurate records for all missions programs  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to serve as a consultant to communities on missions programming
  • Proven trouble shooter
  • Knowledge of Israel and itinerary planning
  • Fund development experience to help guide mission planning
  • Excellent written skills including the ability to edit and create recruitment materials
  • Excellent verbal skills including  the ability to speak before groups
  • Strong social networking skills to advance the Mission program
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and the ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated creativity in program design
  • Self motivated and excellent follow through
  • Serve as a team leader
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community and experience with and/or commitment to Israel-Diaspora relations
  • Familiarity with Israel travel
  • Proven Management skills
  • Business or marketing background a plus
  • Background in Hebrew with conversational ability desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
