National Young Leadership Cabinet is the premier leadership and philanthropic program within The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and throughout the Jewish world. Cabinet is comprised of approximately 300 men and women, ages 30 to 45, from across the United States and Canada who are deeply committed to shaping a bright future for the Jewish people in North America, Israel and around the globe.
National Young Leadership Cabinet is a six-year journey with a variety of destinations, all of them reached by stronger, more vibrant leaders.
Cabinet alumni are among today’s leaders in virtually every Jewish community in North America and serve as advocates and activists in their own communities. Through annual retreats and conferences, Cabinet develops and cultivates leadership skills and educates members about Israel advocacy, humanitarian endeavors, legislative issues and Jewish life. On missions to places like Ethiopia, Budapest, St. Petersburg, Berlin, Morocco, Argentina, and of course Israel, Cabinet members personally witness the needs of the Jewish people in diverse communities around the world. And because of these experiences, Cabinet members go back to their home communities empowered as advocates and prepared to motivate others to get involved.
Most importantly, National Young Leadership Cabinet is not only a profound experience that forges leadership paths, but also a social and spiritual journey that builds deep and life-long friendships. Members of Cabinet aren’t just members – they are Chevre.
How can you join Cabinet?
Dynamic and creative forces for change, Cabinet members are distinguished by their civic and financial contributions to Jewish communal life and their personal leadership qualities and potential. A Cabinet application requires the endorsement of your local Federation professional and the recommendation of a senior local lay leader.
