Mideast & Politics:

On the peace front, PM Netanyahu secures support from Bulgaria in the bid to derail the UN vote on Palestinian statehood, while a Palestinian leader says the UN vote will not hurt the peace process.

Israel Advocacy/Flotilla:

The sea-borne Gaza flotilla appears increasingly deflated, with many activists shipping off – for home. Meanwhile, Israel apparently succeeds in heading off the proposed Palestine fly-in protest, with the help of the countries of origin.

Meanwhile, a critical UN report on last year’s deadly flotilla is delayed to allow Israel and Turkey to complete talks; and two new grassroots Israeli initiatives surface to advocate for the Jewish state.

This week, IAN issued a briefing on the potential Israel airport protests and other news: JFNA and its Israel Action Network, in partnership with JCPA, are also providing advocacy materials and resources to Federations with this special Gaza flotilla page: You can also access information about the Israel Action Network on Facebook ( and Twitter (
